Enamelware is a beautiful tradition, bright colors, matte pastels with or without whimsical decorations from eastern Europe and the nordic countries. Great for kid’s rooms, kitchens whether modern or traditional and to add color to a neutral Scandinavian style. You can find vintage pieces in flea markets and more, although I suggest you use those for decorative uses only.
Decorate with beautiful artwork, reproductions, textiles, furnishings, ceramics and more from Asian + or Asian inspired. Hua Trees by Sian Zeng
Contemporary design often incorporates international motifs and influences, however the very best and most captivating somehow seems to manage to also use traditional artisan or craft traditions to create new and innovative objects and design items. One such standout example is Sian Zeng, a London based designer who imaginatively recreates space using traditional Chinese techniques and imagery within modern day interiors.

The sculptural Lapiaz Center table from Boca do Lobo is inspired in part by karst formations, a vision of stone frozen and dramatically cracked open to expose a rich mineral interior of gold.
Singapore Style tastemaker ….Cavalier Kids -We love this brand because it’s just plain fun.
Children love to move so stretchy or loose fabrics are smart choices and soft on skin natural textiles like bamboo, cotton and cotton blends are best.
Bright funky colors take center stage today and pretty much anything with fun embellishment or a hint of the unusual when it comes to texture. And of course, we all know sporty looks and animals are always a sure hit!
So much fun with Munster Kids...and yes, a monster is definately a type of animal.
Wolf and Rita has a line of gorgeously unusual pieces and not just amazing dresses, lots of fun tee shirts and short sets too.
We are madly in love with the British brand No Added Sugar too, because well, it’s just stylish pretty and sharp clothing that fits, and is adorable and practical.
Ladida is full of gorgeous prettiness, and dresses you definitely want to save forever, as in tucked away in your top drawer til your baby has her own babies…Kahlo inspired designs for the spring-summer season will make your heart swell. Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was a model of bravery and brilliance, and so for me, she makes a great example for little girls. And everyday beauty was important to her as well, just a visit to her Coyoacán house tells you this story in the most thrilling of ways.
Oh Junkfood Clothing Co., definately top of my list of baby couture…awesome tees for your tiny mr. handsome face…
H&M wins the prize for affordability with their incredible prices, cotton is the best choice for kids as their active lives mean appliques and etc will fall apart at this price point. But a cotton tee-shirt or dress can be washed on cold a dozen times. PLUS they have an affinity for patterns with cats…and dresses like this one come in @ $ USD 4.99
A certain way to add life to your space is by adding depth of color. Paint an accent wall or woodwork, table or chair brights. Add a refined sofa in bright blue, yellow, or orange.
Beautiful brights like orange and yellows with white walls and eclectic accent pieces… I have a special affinity for orange, although I know it can go terribly wrong in decor …too much can leave one feeling a little overwhelmed, and orange has an awful habit of just not looking the same out of its paint can.
My love of orange clearly comes from my grandparent’s house where they had a lovely orange couch covered in itchy wool. There was lots of relentless complaining about its texture but I spent hours sitting next to my grandparents on this couch, as they talked with their friends, often falling asleep in my grandmother’s lap as she argued with someone about the merits of Dylan Thomas. Whatever it is you want to debate it can be accomplished in comfort in an overstuffed updated model of the orange couch –cozy comfort courtesy of Loaf. Or add bright pillows from Ragged Rose (pictured above).

Orange is beautiful with pinks and evokes a sense of play and subtle brightness. Wonderful bedding Gingerbread Girl -Fox Face from Indie Art and Design.
Emfurn amazing sleek lined contemporary furniture that allows the texture of materials to shine…
This is such 1970’s perfection, so much great orange and those omnipresent non exotic house plants that just filled everyone’s homes in that era. And yet, there is exquisite balance in this vignette. I love the patterns of Orly Kiely but find too much of a good thing can be overwhelming. The textile designer shows us how to get it just right in this picture of her home -so cozy yet with lots of retro fun!
AND THE WINNER IS, anything by Neptune, a bespoke UK brand that just gets color right, deeply earthy and lush every room in rich color is seriously gorgeous…the color “Fox” is my favorite, the hue is said to age beautifully adding a sense of luxury and history to the interior or furnishing.
Hello! Welcome to part 2 of our popular curated by kids decor series! This is a fun collaborative effort by Rosalina, her daughters, and a occassionally random group of neighborhood kids, mostly girls age 5-12. We noticed that if something seems magical or fantastical it’s a winner. Case in point, a rabbit leaping over a mountain in gorgeous graphic wallpaper in the sweetest of muted pinks, or an eyelashed pillow….or even a pear dollhouse…
Emily Merritt Collection, From Pottery Barn Teen. I find that PBT sheets are a huge investment but they last a lifetime, the percale cotton seems to get better with age.
Yellow is a unifying color and brings these patterns together beautifully. Not a lover of pinks? Not a problem. The blossom duvet is classic and on trend. Mix and match styles, like this eclectic white bed with retro floral designs. Image courtesy of Serena and Lily.
