“Goddess Salad” from An Iowa Girl Eats….Really love her site, and all the pretty pictures of plants, and food prep. And she is right, Kale is easy to grow, I think mine was still yielding in December.
Ingredients for The Detox Goddess Salad: An Iowa Girl Eats
- 2 cups loosely packed fresh kale, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups loosely packed baby spinach, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
- 10 raw, unsalted almonds, roughly chopped
- 3 strawberries, sliced
- 1 large carrot, peeled & sliced
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- 1/3 cucumber, peeled, seeded & sliced
- 1/4 cup raspberries
Another is simple every morning drink lemon water before anything else.
And of course, Gillian Michaels Detox water. On pinterest there are a different testimonials and combinations. Word of caution, do not oversteep the dandelion tea, otherwise the drink will act as a laxative which is not the goal. They say plain cranberry juice no sugar but for me it does a terrible job of masking the bitter taste of dandelion (and I like bitter tastes!) so I add green tea sometimes, mint and agave or honey. Lots of water and ice. You can play with the proportions to see how your body reacts.
- 64 oz. water
- Dandelion Tea
- 1/2 cup Cranberry Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
